How did you love
the girl who painted illusions
for the world?

I saw her every morning.
Face cleaned.
In my t-shirt, she wore the night before
When she danced barefoot in the kitchen
Brewing a cup of tea.
I didn’t fall for her lies,
I fell for mine.
I saw her hide the false image,
My reflection.
We’re all hiding.
But not all of us are lucky enough
to be found.
